How HIFU Therapy works:
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment is used for skin tightening and is relatively new. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage the production of collagen, which results in firmer skin.
HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly.
Once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. While this may seem counterintuitive, the damage actually stimulates the cells to produce more collagen — a protein that provides structure to the skin.
The increase in collagen results in tighter, firmer skin and less wrinkles. Since the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin’s surface, there’s no damage to the upper layers of the skin and adjacent issue.
HIFU therapy was first used for improving the look of facial features in 2008. Before that, it was used for medical procedures such as treating tumours. Since that time HIFU treatments have graduated from lifting the brow areas to improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles on the upper chest and neckline (décolletage) areas.
Results from HIFU therapy develop over time. Sometimes dramatic results can be seen quickly over the first few weeks, and other times results are not noticeable until after a few months after a treatment is performed.
HIFU may not be appropriate for everyone.
In general, the procedure works best on people older than 30 with mild-to-moderate skin laxity.
People with photodamaged skin or a high degree of loose skin may need several treatments before seeing results.
HIFU isn’t recommended for people with infections and open skin lesions at the target area, severe or cystic acne, and metallic implants in the treatment area.
LONG TERM SOLUTIONS
Pre-requisites for HIFU
Only once the skin has been repaired and rebuilt using RF and Ultrasound therapies over the course of the Initial Packages, will HIFU then bn introduced to clients. Because Jessicat's clients are invested long-term and sign up for ongoing therapies, there are fewer risks involved in administering HIFU therapy.
The risks are far greater if you have thinning and fragile skin and atrophied muscles of the face and neck from aging.
All our clients work through Initial Treatment Packages that run over 3 months and include the use of medical-grade Radio Frequency, (RF), LED Light, and other therapies such as Venus Viva, traditional Collagen Induction Fractional Microneedling (CIFM), or Collagen Induction Fractional Microneedling with RF, (CIFM+RF) therapies to gain the best results possible.
Microcurrent muscle work may also be added to clients’ Initial Treatment Packages to target the problem of depleting muscle mass that accompany aging.
After one HIFU Treatment
Jessicat completed her HIFI training with The Australian Dermal & Laser Institute.
In the video below, she has treated the right side of her face only with a comprehensive HIFU treatment, so that she could compare the results side by side on her own skin.
Needless to say, she has been very impressed with the results and since then has been providing HIFU treatments to all of her regular clients so they too can enjoy the same incredible results.
Prior to performing the HIFU treatment on herself, she stopped performing all other treatments, for approximately 12 months, as she wanted to properly assess the results from a single HIFU treatment.
Results from HIFU therapy become more evident over time.
Sometimes dramatic results are seen quickly in the first few weeks, and other times results are not noticeable until after a few months following a treatment.
It is important to understand that results fully develop over a 9-12 month period and everybody is different.
There are many factors to consider when observing why one person may respond quickly to a HIFU treatment, and another may respond more slowly Such factors include age, genetics, hormones and other physiological differences that are unique to our individual bodies’ makeup.
